Jerrica Robertson – Accepting New Clients

Meet Jerrica (she/her): Healing, Relationships, and Lasting Change

Insurance: Cigna, BCBS, Aetna, and Hopkins EHP

In-person and virtual appointments: Columbia office

Hello! I’m Jerrica, and I believe in the profound power of relationships—both the one you have with yourself and the ones you share with others. My passion for therapy stems from the joy of working with people, cultivating genuine connection, and witnessing the lasting, impactful change you create in your life.

As a queer woman, my work is deeply rooted in social justice and feminism, providing a compassionate, affirming, and highly informed space for everyone, especially those from marginalized communities.

I am most comfortable working with young adults aged 26-40, but I welcome all individuals over 18.

Areas of Focus: Trauma, Women, and Couples

My primary passion and area of specialized training centers on anxiety, trauma/dissociation, and women’s issues. I find the process of helping women reclaim their narratives and build stronger senses of self incredibly meaningful.

I dedicate time on my caseload to couples work because I love helping partners shift dynamics and rebuild secure, intimate connections. I also have extensive and meaningful experience working with dissociative disorders (including DID), helping clients integrate their experience and find stability.

    I also work with:

    • Identity Exploration (including LGBTQAI+ and Transgender issues)

    • Grief, Depression, and OCD

    • Life Transitions (College, Early Career, Divorce)

    • Relationship Issues and Perfectionism

    My Approach to Healing

My goal is to meet you where you are and equip you with the tools you need to foster self-compassion and effective coping.

My approach is highly trauma-informed and draws from several powerful modalities:

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Helping you understand and care for all the “parts” of yourself.

    • Attachment Interventions & Psychodynamic: Exploring how your early relationships shape your current patterns and helping you build secure connections.

    • Brainspotting (BSP): A focused neurobiological tool to process and heal trauma and distress.

    • Humanistic & Existential Approaches: Exploring purpose, meaning, and personal responsibility for creating the life you desire.

    • CBT & Motivational Interviewing (MI): Utilizing practical, structured interventions to help you define and move toward your goals.

    What Makes a Good Fit?

I am most successful working with clients who are highly motivated and eager to dive into the process. I find that when clients come in with specific goals they want to pursue each week, we achieve great success in deep emotional processing and goal attainment. Conversely, I tend to struggle working with individuals who are feeling forced into therapy.

(Note: My practice is a safe space for all identities. I do not work with individuals who hold racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic views.)

    Just for Fun!

My go-to self-care involves puzzles! I do the New York Times crossword puzzle every night before bed, and I love listening to a podcast while working on a jigsaw puzzle. I also share my office with my cutest cat, Lou, who occasionally demands attention by crawling over my laptop during morning sessions.
