Chrissy Skane – Accepting new clients

Meet Chrissy (she/her) – Therapist Intern

I’ve always been drawn to helping others, and my fascination with psychology started early. I believe our environment and experiences shape us, and sometimes life’s challenges can feel overwhelming. That’s why I became a therapist – to create a safe space for individuals to explore their inner world, reflect on their experiences, and embark on a journey of growth and healing.

My own journey with an undiagnosed autoimmune disease has deeply instilled in me the importance of empathy, validation, and compassion. I understand the unique challenges faced by those with chronic and invisible illnesses. The road to healing can be complex, and I feel honored to walk alongside my clients, offering support and guidance every step of the way.

    My Approach

I believe in a holistic and trauma-informed approach that honors each individual’s unique needs and experiences. My therapeutic style integrates:

    • Person-Centered Therapy: Creating a warm and accepting environment where you feel heard and understood.
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Providing practical tools to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.
    • Mindfulness-Based Techniques: Cultivating present-moment awareness to reduce stress, manage emotions, and increase self-awareness.

My goal is to empower you with evidence-based strategies and foster resilience so you can navigate life’s challenges with confidence and create a life that aligns with your values.
