Rachel Collins | LCPC & Founder

Greetings! I’m Rachel Collins, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and the founder of Stride Forward Counseling. I am a specialist in high-impact, evidence-based therapy, with a dual focus on advanced trauma recoveryand relational health. My mission is to guide you toward a life that feels authentic, empowered, and deeply aligned with your values.

Expertise in Trauma & Rapid Resolution (ART)

I am a highly trained specialist in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), having earned certification in both Basic and Advanced ART. This powerful, mind-body approach utilizes rapid eye movements to help the brain process distressing memories and replace negative imagery with positive, healing associations. As an advanced practitioner, I utilize sophisticated interventions protocols to help clients move through complex “stuck” points that traditional talk therapy often misses. ART allows for profound emotional relief from trauma, anxiety, and phobias in a significantly shorter timeframe.

Expertise in Couples & Relationship Success

I specialize in helping couples move from gridlock to connection using the Gottman Method. This research-based framework allows me to help partners dismantle the “Four Horsemen” of conflict and rebuild a “Sound Relationship House.” Whether you are navigating a major transition, recovering from a breach of trust, or simply looking to deepen your intimacy, I provide the structured, science-backed tools necessary for lasting relational transformation.

    A Holistic, Integrative Approach

I am particularly passionate about working with high-achievers navigating high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout. I also specialize in supporting individuals exploring sobriety and those seeking a path to true personal freedom. My clinical foundation is built on a diverse, sophisticated toolkit that also includes:

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Parts Work: To heal the internal “parts” of us that hold pain or use protective behaviors.

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): To foster psychological flexibility and values-based living.

    • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT): To ground the nervous system and disrupt negative thought loops.

    Leadership & Advocacy

Beyond my work with clients, I am the visionary behind the Stride Forward team. I am deeply invested in creating a supportive, high-integrity environment for our therapists, prioritizing a culture of work-life balance so our team can provide the highest level of care to the Maryland and Colorado communities. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming provider, I am committed to ensuring that every individual and couple feels seen, heard, and respected.

    Outside the therapy room…

I’m currently in the midst of a great debate: cat person or dog person? Ultimately, I always come back to the truth that I’m simply an animal lover at heart. Beyond my passion for animals, I enjoy dancing, running, and embracing new adventures. As a dancer, music is a vital part of my life! I often think in lyrics and might even break into song (just a little).
